Metropolitan & Wide Area Wireless Networks
Using a combination of WiFi, Mesh Radio and WiMAX technologies, Teleostec metropolitan and large site wide area networks solution can support anything from simple data/internet access through to interactive streaming media to mobile platforms across almost any size of area.
Three Layer Wireless Coverage
The solution has three discrete layers which can be fully integrated to provide a complete solution.
- At the local level, WiFi can provide indoor or outdoor connectivity for user access.
- On top of the WiFi layer, a WiFi-Mesh layer provides the network redundancy and local area distribution. For example, it will be possible to deploy a mobile terminal or kiosk anywhere within coverage.
- At the top level, we seamlessly integrate a third layer which provides high capacity, carrier-class WiMAX capabilities. This can be used to provide backbone interconnectivity to the different areas of the site. It also provides WiMAX Quality of Service (QoS) with multiple traffic prioritization, roaming and 802.16e mobile WiMAX.

Mesh & WiMAX Radio Coverage Planning
Outdoor coverage design needs carefully radio planning to place base stations in optimal positions and assign frequencies to minimise interference. The optimal design needs to be married with the practical reality of where basestations and antennas are permitted or where possible access is possible.
